Notes from our Judge for Contest #3, Anthony Kosky:
And the winner is……..
Eben Massari’s “Torrey Pines”. I kept being drawn to this photo. It paints a wonderfully evocative and moody scene, and also really uses the Minox format to it’s advantage. The film grain, perspective and toning of the print all add to the mood it conveys.
Honorable mention goes to Godfrey DiGiorgi’s photo of “Walking the Seine”. This photo looks timeless, and really captures the feel of Paris. Great composition and use of space and contrast.
The runners up were Børre Ludvigsen’s “Third World Cafe”, which succeeded in capturing the feel and mood of a place and moment in time………
and Jay Rochlin’s “Headlights”, which had great use of colour, simplicity and composition to create a really striking image.

Absolutely stunning image Eben created, just beautiful.
I agree: Eben’s photo is delightful.
I’d love to see a nice print of it!
BTW, thank you for the “honorable mention”!
